October Declared "Walktober"

Walking does a body good. That's why the month of October has been designated as "Walktober month." This national 31-day walking program is aimed at getting people to become more active and lose weight. According to a medical study, an average person walks about 4,000 steps a day. Walktober encourages people to double that number. Both the Lenoir Memorial Foundation and the Lenoir Memorial Wellness Center in Kinston support the new walking initiative.
