Math Translations For ECU

Video will be available shortly.

Understanding geometric and algebraic equations is hard enough, and now officials are translating those equations.

Tough mathematics problems are going from Arabic into English as a task force made up of dozens of teachers from as far away as Ohio to right here in Eastern Carolina have taken up this mission. In the Department of Math and Sciences Education at ECU, an international curriculum translation project is underway with the country of Jordan and the Cisco Learning Institute. The project allows volunteer instructors to add American modifications to math curriculums in Jordan and several other 3rd world countries.

The translations from the East Carolina Department of Math and Science Education will be complete within the coming weeks.
