Crews Cleaning and Drying Grainger Stadium

Kinston Indians logo seen over historic Gringer Stadium.

It should have been "Bring Your Ark Night" at Grainger Stadium Friday night, as torrential rains certainly caused some flooding.

Dugouts were totally submerged as officials say 6.8 inches of rain fell in a very short period of time. Saturday cleanup crews were shoveling mug and grit out of the dugouts, as well as blowing the grass in the outfield, and raking the dirt in the infield in hopes of playing Saturday's 7 o'clock game. Tommy Walston, Head Groundskeeper for the ballpark said needed Mother Nature to help out, because anymore rain and the game would have to be cancelled.
