Democratic Candidates For N.C. Governor Raise Intensity On TV

The two leading Democratic candidates for governor are taking the criticisms they've made in smaller settings such as debates to a larger audience with television ads that try to erode the other's strengths.

State Treasurer Richard Moore began late last week with ads that
criticize Lt. Gov. Beverly Perdue's education voting record in the
Senate. The N.C. Association of Educators has endorsed Perdue.

Perdue responded with two ads that sought to defuse the voting
record issue. They also allege that Moore's performance as
treasurer included "risky" hedge fund investments and link his
fundraising to Wall Street big shots.

WITN-TV and Inner Banks Media are sponsoring a gubernatorial debate Thursday evening. Moore has accepted the invitation while Perdue has not.

The Democrat debate is set for 7:00 pm from the Brody School of Medicine Auditorium at ECU. The Republican candidates will debate at 8:00 pm.

You can watch the debate on WITN-TV and here at witntv.com. You can also listen to it on Inner Banks Media radio station WTIB 94.3 FM.

Both of these candidates want to spend more money..... yours and my money. $170 million for handicapped "victims of the state" from the 50's and untold millions for free community college education, but neither has told us how they will pay for it. Taxes??? And who goes to college for free? Illegal immigrants??? Moore and Purdue need to get out and stay out of our pockets!!
