Wayne County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting in the small town of Fremont. Deputies say they got the call around 1:15 Saturday morning, that shots had been fired at 117 North Branch Street. Police there have confirmed that someone was shot, but they are not releasing his name. Police say he was taken to Pitt County Memorial Hospital, but his condition is unknown at this time. The shooting is still under investigation.
