Former Animal Control Officer Speaks Out

Video will be available shortly.

Beaufort County's chief animal control officer, who resigned this week, is speaking out. Beth Guthrie worked with Beaufort County Animal Control for over two decades, but now she says she's had enough. Guthrie says the job became too stressful and she felt it was in her best interest to resign. At a county commissioner meeting earlier this month some residents came forward and made allegations against Guthrie's practices as an animal control officer. County officials say animal control will operate with existing resources until the position is filled in about six weeks.
