Victim of Train and Car Crash Improving

The victim of a car train collision in Craven County is improving. Geoffrey Whaley, 18 years old from Cove City, had to be airlifted to Pitt County Memorial Hospital Tuesday. Authorities say he failed to stop for a train at a railroad crossing on Old Highway 70 in Cove City that didn't have flashing lights or a mechanical stop gate. Whaley is listed in good condition.
