Just three months old, the baby is recovering after being left alone in a sweltering car Sunday afternoon. Police say the mom left the infant behind while she shopped at Wal-Mart in Morehead City. Authorities say 23-year-old Stephanie Skrabacz was charged with misdemeanor child abuse after police say a passerby discovered her three-month-old daughter lying in a car seat in the Wal-Mart parking lot, with the car off and the windows up. Authorities say the baby was in the car for at least an hour. When the child was taken from the car, authorities say she was pale, conscience, but unresponsive. At last report, authorities say the baby was doing better. Social Services was called in to investigate.
