Boy Scouts Extravaganza

It started with a flag raising and a cannon blast, but its teachings could last a lifetime.

The Boy Scouts of America troops across Eastern Carolina met in Beaufort County for their Annual Extravaganza. The conference is a fun way for the scout leaders to learn about programs, and to plan for the year ahead with the troops. However, in light of the July deaths of 4 Boy Scout leaders at the National Jamboree, officials say safety is always the number one concern, for both scout leaders, and the scouts themselves, and that the program teaches that and more.

The extravaganza had clubs and packs coming from all over Eastern Carolina, and its never to late to get involved if you like the great outdoors.
