Mother Nature Can't Keep Some People From Living on the Water

Print

Many folks in Craven and Carteret Counties remember the flooding of Hurricane Isabel in 2003, Especially those folks in the Adam's Creek area near Harlowe. Barbara and Alan Holleman also remember Isabel. They weren't living in Adam's Creek at the time, but have lived there long enough to see what storms like Irene can do and are a little worried about what could happen if Irene pays a visit. The couple says they will watch the storm closely, and may begin batting down the hatches as early as Saturday. Some longtime residents of Adam's Creek have already begun preparing.
