Traveler's Insurance

Video will be available shortly

With Irene possibly threatening our coast early next week, what options are there for folks renting a place at the beach if a storm heads this way? According to rental agencies, travelers insurance could be your best bet. But there is a catch. If you are just now purchasing insurance for your vacation, any inconvenience from Irene will not be covered. That's because you have to get insurance before a storm is named. And, even if coverage was purchased early, it can only be used if a mandatory evacuation is ordered for your area. One positive note: Many policies will cover other things, like medical emergencies during your trip, whether a storm causes them or not.
