Craven County Deputy Caught Stealing

Ten years of service down the drain. Sgt. James Teel, a Craven County deputy, was caught stealing a weedeater and was fired. Teel pled guilty Thursday morning to taking the weedeater from the utility shed. Now, he must give up his law enforcement certification after ten years with the department. He is the fourth employee of the Craven County Sheriff's office to be fired this week. Three jailers were let go after allegations they beat an inmate.
