On the state's third attempt, Rocky Mount broker Joe Jones has finally been sentenced on drug charges. Jones is the broker under investigation for scamming retirees out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Monday, the judge in Nash County court put Jones on 30 months of supervised probation, with six to eight months of prison time should he get caught breaking any laws. The judge also ruled the $3700 seized when the Secretary of State's officers raided Jones' office should be turned over to Nash County schools.
