Greenville is typically a busy place on the weekends late at night, with people packing into the downtown bars. This past weekend, police say things turned violent, when an argument they believe started in a bar, poured out into the streets. When it was over, one person was stabbed 10 times. It happened around 3:00 am near the parking lot at Washington and 6th streets.
Police arrested 22 year old Daniel Stanford Turner of Rocky Mount. Cops believe the fight may have spilled out from an area bar. Police are now investigating whether another person may have been involved in the fight which led to the stabbing. Meanwhile people who use the parking lot are calling for more police patrolling in light of the incident.
Originally listed in critical condition, the victim is now in fair condition at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. Police say Turner is under a 450,000 dollar bond.
