Belhaven's Main Street was lined with thousands of people Monday to celebrate the town's 63rd consecutive Independence Day celebration.
While children were busy filling their pockets with sweets thrown from passing floats, others were trying to beat the blazing summer heat, visiting the many snow cone vendors along the parade route.
Elsewhere, an entire area was set up for children to enjoy rides and games. There was also a stage with live music. The night was capped off with a fireworks display.
