New York's first lady a North Carolina native

The wife of embattled New York Governor Eliot Spitzer has some ties to North Carolina.

Silda Spitzer grew up in Concord, where her father was a
hospital administrator.

She attended Meredith College in Raleigh, and went from there to
Harvard Law School and a career in mergers and aquisitions.

She married Spitzer, a fellow Harvard Law graduate, in 1987, and
the couple have three daughters: Elyssa, now 17, Sarabeth, 15, and
Jenna, 13.

Since the mid-1990s, Silda Spitzer has been a stay-at-home
mother and political spouse.

Law enforcement officials say the New York governor spent tens
of thousands of dollars with a prostitution service over an
extended period of time.
