Pool Patrol

Summertime is swimming pool time, but have you ever stopped to think about what's in the water you're swimming in?

Health Department officials say bacteria in pools can be a big problem if there's not enough chlorine and ph, so WITN is going on "Pool Patrol" to see if pools in Eastern Carolina meet the healthy standards for pool chemicals.

We tested the Courts Plus and Twin Rivers YMCA pools in New Bern and the Viquest pool in Greenville. The tests showed all chemical levels right where they should be. That's good news for swimmers trying to cool off on these hot summer days, but what about your neighborhood pool?

We'll be back on "Pool Patrol" next Thursday, and every Thursday throughout the month of July.
