One of the PETA Employees Accused of Dumping Dead Dogs Is Suspended

There are new developments in a startling case of animal cruelty we first told you about Thursday from the town of Ahoskie in Hertford County. One of the two employees of "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals" accused in the case has been suspended from her job. Friday, 27-year-old Adria Joy Hinkle and a trainee of the animal rights group were in court in the Hertford County town of Winton, facing charges they trespassed and illegally dumped dead cats and dogs. They entered no pleas and had no comment. Investigators say it appears the two PETA workers took live animals from two shelters and then euthanized the animals before putting them in a shopping center dumpster in Ahoskie. Local officials and veterinarians said they were told that PETA would find homes for the animals, not euthanize them.
