It's been several days since medical waste washed up along a section of the Albemarle Sound in Washington County.
Health officials believe the water is now safe and are reopening that section of beach.
Last week, more than 30 syringes of varying sizes washed up along Beech Bay Road in Washington County. Just last Friday, a medical glove, surgical mask and one additional syringe washed ashore about a half mile from where the medical waste was first spotted.
Health officials in Washington County say since nothing has washed ashore in a few days, they plan to reopen the stretch of beach Tuesday evening. Officials still don't know where the needles came from or how they got there.
