Marine Wins State's Highest Honor

Monday, Camp Lejeune's Commander got a high honor from his adopted home state. Lieutenant Governor Beverly Perdue presented Major General Robert Dickerson with the Order of The Long Leaf Pine. It's North Carolina's highest honor given to selected citizens who have made the Tarheel state a better place. The general was quick to shift the honors to his wife and family, and to those troops putting their lives on the line every day. General Dickerson is about to take on a new role, as head of all Marine Corps facilities on the East Coast.
