If someone calls you claiming to be from the state tax department saying you have money coming back to you, don't hang up. It is legitimate. An error in a computer program that automatically drafts withholding taxes from bank accounts caused some 359 taxpayers to pay more than what they owed. Taxpayers will get letters and telephone calls offering to pay for any bank penalties assessed for overdrawn accounts.
