Winn Dixie Closing Down Stores in North Carolina

The Winn Dixie grocery chain will close 80 of its remaining stores in North Carolina as a part of its Chapter 11 Bankruptcy reorganization. The supermarket chain said in all, it will close 35 percent of its stores, all the closures in North Carolina and three other states and cut back operations in four others. The cuts in our state primarily affect the Central and Western part of the state. Most of the Winn Dixie stores in Eastern Carolina have already closed over the past few years, there are still three operational in Goldsboro.
