Meth Suspects Found in Beaufort County

Two people wanted for setting up a meth lab in a Greenville motel last month are behind bars, after Beaufort County lawmen stopped them at another motel a week later. The Beaufort County Sheriffs Department says a Crimestoppers tip led them to a Chocowinity motel, where Dennis Lee Watson of Deep Run was found in the parking lot. Inside his car, town police and county deputies say they found drug paraphernalia and chemicals used to make methamphetamines, and a handgun. As they searched the motel, lawmen also found Trudy Leigh Barnes. Barnes and Watson are accused of taking off from a Greenville motel the week before, where police found a meth lab inside their room. The pair faces multiple drug charges for that incident. Watson was also hit with charges for carrying a concealed weapon by a convicted felon. And, detectives also found Barnes was wanted on outstanding warrants from Texas.
