Lois Britt, a former member of the UNC Board of Governors and the first woman in the state to serve as the director of a cooperative extension service, has died at the age of 69. Britt worked for 34 years for the cooperative extension service in Duplin County, the last 14 years as director. A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday on the campus of Mount Olive College.
