An expected shutdown at the intersection of Moye Blvd. and Stantonsburg Road took a backseat to the heavy rainfall.
The intersection was supposed to close Friday for construction, but Pitt County Memorial Hospital officials decided to keep it open until Saturday, when the rain is expected to taper off. Traffic going to the main hospital will turn onto Farm Drive between Bank of America and Kentucky Fried Chicken. Electronic message signs will be in place Monday, alerting traffic of the upcoming changes.
