Hitting the roads between now and Monday? If you are, lawmen will be keeping a close watch for drivers and their passengers who are breaking the law. Roads like Highway 70 in Lenoir County will be heavily patrolled, as lawmen will be on the lookout for drivers who are speeding, driving aggressively, not buckled up, or worse, under the influence. Drivers will also see several checkpoints on many different roads scattered throughout Lenoir County. Troopers say if traffic gets too congested around the checkpoints, they have a plan already in place to keep the traffic moving. Lawmen are expected to keep their presence visible on the roads up until midnight on Monday.
