Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Survives Cuts

Video will be available shortly.

Seymour Johnson Air Force Base will not close down. Matter of fact, the base's military power will be increased thanks to a decision by the Pentagon. For years now, the city of Goldsboro has been sitting on pins and needles, waiting to see if the base would be closed by the Pentagon. Colonel Mike Holmes, commander of the 4th Fighter Wing, says the decision by the Pentagon will make better use of taxpayer money. Seymour Johnson will receive eight KC 135 refueler planes, and an F15E engine repair facility. The base will also gain over 300 military positions and 17 civilian jobs.
