Artifacts Pulled Up From Shipwreck

Video will be available shortly.

Scientists with the North Carolina Underwater Archeology branch headed to the shipwreck site of what many people believe to be the Queen Anne's Revenge, Blackbeard's flagship, near Beaufort off the Carteret County coast Tuesday.

They recovered two cannons from the ocean bottom. The group was assisted by the Maritime Technology program at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington as well as the U.S. Coast Guard at Fort Macon. The two cannons are now on their way to East Carolina University where they will be cleaned, studies and displayed with other artifacts from the shipwreck.
