Testing for Lead

Video will be available shortly.

Since the lead advisory was issued in Pitt County Tuesday that two kids tested positive for elevated levels of lead in their blood because of leaching from the water pipes in their homes, about 217 Greenville Utilities customers out of 30,000 have elected to have their water tested. Water samples are being collected by GUC, and forwarded to a pair of independent labs for testing. If you decide not to test your water, utility officials advise customers to run their water for one to two minutes before using it.
