Kinston Woman Shot While on Front Porch

Video will be available shortly.

A Kinston woman is lucky to be alive, after she says she was shot by a man wielding a shotgun Monday night. The shooting took place in front of a home located on the 700 block of East Caswell Street. The victim, 48-year-old Betty Croom, says she was sitting at the picnic table in front of her home just before 11 p.m. Monday night. That's when she says a man fired his shotgun at her. Pellets from the blast tore into the left side of her face, left arm, and chin. Croom believes she was shot in a case of mistaken identity.
