Fighting Back

Video will be available shortly.

The Pitt County town of Ayden announced Tuesday new efforts to fight crime, following last week's shooting death of a 10-year-old boy.
According to Mayor Stephen Tripp, the town will form two task forces. The first will examine current and potential laws, as well as look at ways to make citizen's property safer. The other task force will examine mentorship programs, after school activities for kids, as well as tutoring programs, in an effort to keep kids on the right path and off the streets. The mayor says the town hopes to have both task forces up and running by the first of next year.
