The non-profit community development corporation, Self Help, has spent the last 25 years lending money to people wanting to purchase a home that couldn't otherwise afford it. They have also helped folks start their own small businesses and push for legislation to stop predatory lending. Tuesday, the organization celebrated their years of service and Lieutenant Governor Beverly Perdue was the featured speaker.
