Verdict in Murder Trial

An Onslow County jury came back from a weekend away from court, with a verdict in a murder trial Monday. The jury found 23-year-old Victor Perez guilty of second degree murder in the September, 2002 killing of Frankie Rodriguez, Junior. Eyewitnesses and detectives testified that Perez rammed Rodriguez's car in a shopping center parking lot, then got out and fired a handgun, killing Rodriguez. Perez had claimed self-defense.
