The Kinston Housing Authority has a new program aimed at helping its residents improve their lives. It’s called the "resident opportunities and self-sufficiency program." It will help provide housing authority residents resources like new job training skills, or even help with their education. Program officials hope this will help many residents move out of public housing. One person we talked to says single mothers and their children will benefit greatly. The program starts officially on Thursday.
