Marine Happy To Be Home

Video will be available shortly.

Semper Fi! Words one eastern Carolina Marine, home from Iraq Saturday, tells WITN kept him strong on the battlefields of war. Second Lieutenant James Collins from Washington County came home to a warm welcome from family and friends in the town of Roper. He's been in Iraq since last July. Collins says his main job was security of the main roads that coalition forces were using. His mother says she relied on prayer during her son's deployment. Collins father said as happy as they are their hearts are sad for the thousands of families and soldiers that did not get their loved ones back.
Lieutenant Collins is on a thirty day leave and will return to 29 Palms, California where he will be a liaison officer until deployed again.
