Police Offer Reward For 8 Year Old Murder

Williamston police are hoping a reward will bring in new leads on just who killed a man nearly 8 years ago.

On February 2, 2000 Joe Carr of Plymouth was shot down on Ormand Drive in Williamston. Police say they believe the motive for Carr's murder was robbery.

Now Governor Mike Easley is offering a $5,000 reward for Carr's killer, plus Martin County Crime Stoppers will add another $1,000 to that reward.

Anyone with any information about the murder of Joe Carr they are asked to call the Martin County Crime Stoppers at 252-792-8800 or the Williamston Police Department at 252-792-2124.
