Wrestling Coach Arrested; Quits Next Day

A Wilson County wrestling coach quit his job the day after he was arrested for felony sex offense involving a student and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

David Earp of Sims was arrested Friday. Wilson County Schools say he resigned the next day.

Earp was a physical education teacher and wrestling coach at Fike High School. The school system says Earp was hired on August 17th.

Authorities were alerted when a parent intercepted a text message from their daughter and brought it to the attention of the high school principal.

OMG-it seems our schools will never be safe for our kids....what happened to kids going to school and getting their education-instead of having to worry about being assaulted, or even worse killed. One question for the school board there-was a compehensive background check done with this creep?, and if not-whoever is responsible for the safety of our kids should be fired IMMEDIATELY!!!!
