Demetria Taylor is back in the state of North Carolina and now must face the parental abduction charges against her. In November, Pitt County lawmen say Taylor took her two daughters out of the state, though she does not have custody of the three and four-year-old girls. Investigators say Taylor did not return her daughters to their grandparents after her scheduled visit for Thanksgiving.
Within days of the alleged abduction, the girls were found unharmed in Georgia. Earlier this month, police in Georgia found Taylor when they were investigating a couple they spotted arguing at a gas station. Last week, authorities extradited Taylor to North Carolina.
