Possible Scam

North Carolina Forest rangers are urging land owners to beware of a possible scam, involving a mystery man who has been trying to get people to sell off their timber. The State Division of Forest Resources says a man dressed much like an official ranger has been making the rounds in Eastern Carolina. He's reportedly urging owners to sell off pine trees, claiming they are infested by pine beetles. But state officials say there has been no reported beetle outbreak in those counties, and no one from the forest division buys or sells timber.
