Expanded flight service is coming to the Craven Regional airport in New Bern and Albert J. Ellis airport in Jacksonville. Airport authorities say in response to the demand in air travel, U.S. Airways Express will begin non-stop seasonal service not only for passengers traveling to and from Charlotte, but in June they will add service to Philadelphia on weekends. Airport officials say this service is increasing travel capabilities by 57 percent.
