Battle Over Pirate Ship

There is a controversy brewing over whether scientists have actually discovered Blackbeard's flagship the Queen Anne's Revenge off the North Carolina coast. East Carolina University will hold a symposium Thursday night and Friday to give the public the opportunity to hear and see all the findings so far from experts who have been working on the project since 1996. Two professors also from ECU dispute some of those findings and question whether the ship found is that of Blackbeard's. Professor of nautical archeology at East Carolina University, Brad Rodgers, says one of several discrepancies is that there don't appear to be enough cannons on the ship to make it a well armed pirate ship. State archaeologists working on the project disagree. They say at this point there is no hard evidence this ship could be anything but the Queen Anne's Revenge.
