A 64-year old Nags Head man who faces a statutory rape charge turned himself into authorities Tuesday night. Police say Gary Joseph Dowdy surrendered at the county jail. He also faces one count of taking indecent liberties with a minor. Sergeant Kevin Brinkley says the incident is still under investigation and more charges may be pending.
