Exposing Children to Health Risks

Parents who smoke, abuse drugs, or use alcohol in front of their children, increase the chance their kids will develop the same habits. A new study by the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University says more than 35,000,000 children are at risk. Thirteen percent of children under the age of 18 live in households in which a parent uses illicit drugs. About 24 percent live with a person who's a binge or heavy drinker, and 37 percent of children live with a parent that smokes.
