Man Ran Over By 18 Wheeler

A man died after he was struck by a tractor trailer around 8:45 Friday morning at the Weyerhaeuser lumber mill in Plymouth. The mill is located on the Martin County side of the town. Officials say two drivers from Pungo Trucking in Plymouth were waiting for their trucks to be loaded with boards. Authorities say one driver was out of his truck and was struck and killed by the other 18-wheeler.The lumber mill is the smaller of two Weyerhauser mills in Plymouth. Its production line was shut down after the accident and counselors have been called in to assist the 180 employees. OSHA is investigating, as is the sheriff's department and the state highway patrol.
