Currituck County officials are investigating a Friday morning fire that claimed the life of one man. Officials say they were called to a mobile home at Knotts Island and Wards Roads around 5 a.m. They found the man in bed, believed to be in his late 70s or early 80s. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are investigating to determine the exact cause of the blaze. The name of the victim has not been released.
