Say "No" to the Real Ones, Get a Stuffed One

Bunnies! Along with candy and flowers, they are one of the most recognizable images during spring and one of the most common gifts given on Easter. Animal experts say every year thousands of rabbits are abandoned outdoors or taken to shelters days after the adorable effects of these pets wear off. Bonnie Pulver is the director of the Eastern Carolina Rabbit Rescue and says she is currently fostering more than a dozen domesticated and abandoned bunnies in Pitt County. Pulver's jumping to tell parents and anyone who wants a rabbit this year as an Easter gift, opt for the stuffed version! If you would like to give one of these furry friends a permanent home, you can contact Bonnie online at rabbitmom@earthlink.net.
