Entrance requirements at six University of North Carolina campuses are getting tougher.
Minimum entrance requirements will increase three times beginning next year at Elizabeth City State, Fayetteville State, North Carolina A&T, North Carolina Central, Winston-Salem State, and UNC-Pembroke.
The schools will require a minimum 2.0 grade point average in high school and scores of at least 700 on the SAT or 15 on the ACT beginning in the fall of next year.
By 2011, the minimum requirements will be a 2.3 GPA, and scores
of 750 on the SAT or 16 on the ACT.
By 2013, the minimum will be a 2.5 GPA, and an 800 on the SAT or
a 17 on the ACT.
The new requirements were approved by the UNC Board of Governors.
