Mary Lauterbach told the Dayton Daily News that her daughter was
a beautiful girl with perceived credibility issues. And that set
her up to be the perfect victim.

The body of 20-year-old Maria Lauterbach was found last weekend,
one day after a fellow Marine she had accused of raping her
disappeared. Authorities believe Cpl. Cesar Laurean has fled to

Laurean is charged in Lauterbach's death. Her burned remains
were found in a fire pit in the back yard of his house.
Mary Lauterbach believes her daughter should have been more
forceful in pursuing a case against Laurean.
