Candelight Vigil For Lauterbach

The Jacksonville and Onslow County community came together Friday night to remember Maria Lauterbach.

A candlelight vigil was held for the 20 year-old lance corporal. Hundreds gathered on the playing fields at Northeast Creek Park in Jacksonville to remember Lauterbach's life. Many of them signed a banner that will be sent to her family.

A petition also was available to sign in an attempt to change North Carolina's fetal laws. The law in question currently says that if a pregnant woman is murdered, the killing of the fetus is only considered a misdemeanor. The petition hopes to get that law changed to felony murder.

When a murder is committed in the US the first place they head for is the border because our frinds to the south and north do not belive in the death penelaty(Mexican/Canada). Why have our law enforcement not relized this and closed the borders.

okay if it all this happen at their home how in the world didnt she know all this before she said she did? Okay where was she when all this was going at her home? She cant fool me not one bit she is guilty as sin.Because she did and she was tryin to think of a story before she turn it in to try to stay out of trouble. I think she needs a lie detector test to prove thats shes guilty and see how she feels bout taking one

i believe that that they should get charge for double murder because its was another life that died and thats murder. If she havent been killed the baby would had been born soon and thats another life so please think about that babies life that was taken too.

I believe that killing a woman that is pregnant should result in double murder charges. That is because the guilty party has taken two lives, not one. Just because the baby was not born yet doesn't mean that the baby was not important enough to be considered a life worth seeking justice for.
