Eighteen-Year-Old Accused of Killing Grandparents

An 18-year-old from Wilson County is charged with murdering the grandparents he lived with, then taking and using their credit cards and checks for his own enjoyment. Lawmen say Justin Keith Pelletier shot his grandparents, William and Edna Brantley, in their Elm City home Wednesday night. However, detectives didn't discover the bodies until Sunday when the Brantley's didn't show up for a trip to Virginia. Wilson deputies found Pelletier in Greene County Sunday night after a tip led them to the Brantley's stolen car found in Snow Hill. Investigators say Pelletier had his grandfather's wallet and his grandmother's pocketbook. Wilson County Sheriff Wayne Gay says Pelletier used his grandparents' money to travel to Raleigh, Charlotte and to a rock concert in Hampton, Virginia. Pelletier is being held without bond at the Wilson County jail without bond. His next court appearance is set for April.
